I’m looking forward to this week’s Embedded World. PRQA has attended the show for many years and has watched it grow into the leading embedded systems conference and exhibition.
The event has embraced every aspect of the growth in embedded systems in everyday consumer goods, medical devices and vehicles. My interest is in addressing the challenges faced by those developing the increasingly complex software for controlling these systems and in how we can help to ensure its quality, safety, and security.
To hear thought leaders and technology experts share their knowledge and vision on embedded systems, visitors head to the conference that runs alongside the exhibition. This year’s conference is exceptional in the breadth of industry topics that are being covered; IoT, autonomous vehicles, safety and security, embedded operating systems, hardware engineering and software and systems engineering to name a few. We have expertise in many of these topics and I’m really excited that my colleague Dr Frank van den Beuken, will be presenting two interesting papers during the conference;
At 10:30 on Tuesday 27th February - ‘AUTOSAR - Development of a New C++ Standard’, Frank will compare the new standard with other popular C++ coding standards and explain its relationship with the automotive functional safety standard ISO 26262. As a development partner and member of the working group to develop the AUTOSAR Guidelines we are well positioned to give insight into this new coding standard for the C++ 14 language.
At 10:30 on Wednesday 28th February - ‘Internet of Threats? – A Code Quality Management Strategy’, Frank discusses how important it is to find software vulnerabilities in applications as early as possible in the development stage. In this paper, he will outline the different types of software verification and provide advantages and drawbacks for each of them.
We will also be exhibiting on stand 4-138, where any visitors will have the opportunity to talk to our experts and find out more about our latest products.
I hope to see you there!
